I want to thank everyone for a wonderful Pie Day. If you participated by sending in ingredients, helping assemble pies, or helping your child think of a person to give their pie to please know that we could not have done this without your help!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! It looks like we will be getting more snow before Monday so please help your second grader remember to bring all their winter gear. When my kids were little I left a pair of snowpants at school so they didn't have to lug them back and forth. This also ensured that they always had them if they were needed. Feel free to leave snowpants and a pair of shoes at school. It helps make the morning scramble a little less crazy!
We had an awesome short week last week! Luke, our HHS football player, surprised the class with cookies! The second graders drew pictures and wrote notes to send over to the high school before the big game. But we got to give them to Luke in person which was way more fun!
The next three weeks are going to fly by because we have so much to pack into them! On Monday we will start a fun new persuasive writing project as an introduction to our opinion writing unit that begins in January. We will continue our measurement unit in math and start new units in reading and phonics. On Thursday we will take a trip to the church to practice for the Christmas Program that night. (Thursday is also Mr Beimers' birthday!) Then, Friday is Miss Greydanus' last day! We will be having a popcorn bar and a movie in the cafeteria to celebrate her and the other student teachers. If you want to send something in check out the
Sign Up Genius or send in something your child loves to snack on while watching a movie!
